Little Jewels

Little jewels captured
Sepia moments shed
Light in very dim places
Little fingers wrap one
Large index finger
While her thumb presses
Gently into my hand
I hold your coral hibiscus
The one you plucked for me
I delight in its color
The color now
That I imagine it to be
Like my memories
Too many years have passed
To be sure of anything
I have to believe
There were joyful times
Tucked and surrounding
The painful times
Thank you for trying
It seemed I never said that to you
But it is clear now
That I should have.

Oh this is beautiful. And it's never too late to recognize those responsible for moments of our happiness,it may be,in fact, more meaningful now :)
