Is organization for me always going to be trial and error? I wonder if I will ever find a way to make things work? I think I am trying to make my small office space do too much. The fact is the space needs to handle my personal finances, exist as an area where both my husband and I can write, photograph my jewelry, work space to build my jewelry, place to charge all of our devices, store office supplies, beads and tools, house our personal and business files, and check email along with all the other things we try to get this space to handle.
It seems I spend more time trying to figure out the best way to work in this space then actually doing the work itself. Needless to say, I am frustrated. I have a terrible habit of surrounding myself with stuff that I am using and not taking the time to actually put things away immediately. Is it that I think that little act will interfere with my creative process? I have tried a few times to do that and I always slip back into my mess. Why are some creative people messy? Is it laziness or just the way some of us are built? One thing I noticed is that my best work seems to come when my space is an utter disaster but the process does seem slower and the mess does slow me down. How do I fix this and find the happy medium so that for once I won't have to reorganize my reorganization?
